León City Council had the opportunity to introduce internationally LEON UP, its Investment Attraction Bureau, during the business, institutional and educational meeting in México, from February 21st to February 24th of 2017.
On the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the “Agrupación Leonesa in México”, its President Pedro José Díez invited Leon City Major, Antonio Silván, to strengthen links between León and the Leonese colony in that country. This was the starting point of the trip with a tight agenda of activities, in which also took part Ildefe, the local Promotion Agency, INCIBE, the Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute, and some local companies coming from the field of ITC, food and beverage, biopharmacy, textile, architectural design, tourism, education, asset and financial management, winemaking and banking interested in opening new market in México or attracting business to our city.
León UP
The CEO of Ildefe, Graciliano Álvarez, introduced the initiative León UP to Mexican businessmen and investors, emphasizing its double vision as facilitator to start new businesses and also to help the growth of already existing companies in León city area.
Álvarez referred the local economy reality, emphasizing those fields with the highest potential future, the availability of highly skilled workers, industrial and research infrastructures and the quality of life.
In that context, León City Council hands over the launching of León UP to Ildefe, that will support city efforts to attract investments from now on.
